Hospice of the Wabash Valley and Visiting Nurse Association recently recognized their staff during National Home Care and Hospice Month at the annual recognition dinner at The Landing of Fort Harrison.
Service awards were presented to those employees who have served five, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years with Hospice of the Wabash Valley and Visiting Nurse Association. The employees recognized in 2009 included 25 years: Sharon Reynolds; 20 years: Merrie Ray; 15 years: Cheryl Catterson and Sherry Rader; 10 years: George VanHoorebeke; five years: Cathy Evans, Karen Fell, Tina Hutchinson, Cynthia Thomas and Trudy Rupska.
Customer Service Champions recognized were Linda Drummy, Cathy Evans, Melissa LaLoux, Joyce Morris and Merrie Ray.
Employee of the Year nominees also were announced at the recognition dinner. They are Mary Ann Ax, Jody Elslager, Donna Hammond, Robin Heng, Tina Hutchinson, Sharon Reynolds, Kim Streeter and Lee Ann Terrill.
Selected by her peers for the Employee of the Year Award was Kim Streeter. The award recognizes an employee of Hospice of the Wabash Valley and Visiting Nurse Association who has demonstrated accomplishments that exceed normal expectations and meet the criteria outlined in the agency Standards for Service Excellence.

Todd M. Newman, president of Newman Co. Inc., the Remodeling Specialist of the Wabash Valley, has been named the 2009 Remodeler of the Year for Indiana by the Home Builders Association of Indiana. This is the second time that Newman has won this award.
Newman has certifications as Graduate Master Remodeler, Graduate Master Builder, Graduate Master Remodeler, Certified Graduate Builder, Certified Aging in Place Specialist and Certified Green Professional.
