Regional Hospital names new COO

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute Regional Hospital has announced the appointment of Dale Alward as chief operating officer.

Alward joined Regional Hospital on Nov. 1.

Before coming to Regional Hospital, Alward served as assistant administrator and administrator of Cardiovascular Services at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital (a Virginia-based HCA facility) in 2007. He brings more than 26 years of progressive management experience working in Acute Care Hospitals. Before joining HCA, he served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years.

“We are excited about Dale joining the administrative team at Regional as he brings a breadth of knowledge and experience that will be a great asset to our hospital as we continue to improve the high quality and safe care we provide — every patient, every time” said Chris Hill, chief executive officer of Regional Hospital.

“I look forward to serving as the chief operating officer for Regional Hospital and helping to facilitate the mission, vision, and values the community has come to expect of our hospital, providers, and staff.” Alward said. “Additionally, my wife Christy and I are looking forward to joining the Terre Haute community and Regional Hospital family.”

Alward is a board-certified fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives. Included in his professional affiliations are Central Virginia Healthcare Executive Group, Military Officers Association of America, Air Force Association — Richmond Chapter AF-243 and he is a recipient of the Leadership Award from Virginia Commonwealth University.
