TERRE HAUTE — Michael W. Collins of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network has been recognized as a financial professional with an expertise in long-term care insurance by achieving the Certified in Long-Term Care designation.

With the designation, Collins has received one of the most extensive educations available for financial professionals in the field of long-term care insurance. Meredith J. Addison, an emergency department staff nurse at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, is the recipient of the Gail P. Lenehan Advocacy Award. The award was presented by the Emergency Nurses Association at its annual conference in Baltimore.

The award honors a nurse who has had a positive impact on emergency nurses through a sustained commitment of advocacy for emergency nurses’ well-being and welfare, or the welfare of vulnerable populations. This is demonstrated by advocacy in education, awareness campaigns, public speaking, legislative and regulation activities, or policy and standards activities.

“Winning this award means that the folks who have come all the way from New Jersey and California with the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation will see how wonderfully supportive this organization is for not only its members, but every patient we care for, and their family members, and our communities,” Addison said.
