Time Warner Cable recently announced the promotion of Shannon Mullen to the post of regional vice president of operations from her previous role as vice president of customer care. In her new role, Mullen will have operational responsibility for 850,000 customer relationships in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas, as well as the recently integrated operations in Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia and Illinois.
During her 12 years in management at Time Warner Cable, Mullen gained valuable experience in all aspects of management in the company’s residential services unit. She joined Time Warner Cable as a supervisor of customer service in Dayton and prior to undertaking increasing management responsibilities for the division’s call center, retail and credit and collections departments.
Mullen is credited for fostering a customer-first environment which led to improvements in customer care.
“Shannon brings unique qualities to the position through her work as a supervisor, manger, director and vice president for Time Warner Cable in southwest Ohio. She has seen what it takes to satisfy the customer firsthand and has never forgotten that taking care of our customers is the most important thing we do,” said Rhonda Fraas, president of residential services for Time Warner Cable’s Midwest region.
Prior to joining Time Warner Cable, Shannon was a supervisor for Electronic Data Systems. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Indiana University, where she earned a bachelor of arts, and holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Active in the cable industry, Mullen is a board officer for the Greater Ohio Chapter of Women in Cable & Telecommunications and a member of the Ohio Cable Telecommunications Association. She also serves on Time Warner Cable’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the Midwest Region TWC Ideas committee and is involved in the region’s mentoring program.
• Glen E. Stover, CPCU, CIC, has joined Forrest Sherer Insurance as a commercial lines producer.
Stover is a 1985 graduate of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He obtained his chartered property casualty underwriter designation in 1993 and his certified insurance counselor designation in 2006. He has 25 years of insurance experience in manufacturing, construction, wholesale, contract surety, professional liability, executive protection and global risk management.
He began his insurance career in 1985, spending five years as a multi-line claims adjuster traveling southwestern Indiana and western Kentucky. His most notable assignment as an adjuster was the catastrophic tornado at Petersburg in 1990. Stover is an experienced and well-respected insurance professional with more than 25 years in the Evansville area.
Stover is a former president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Evansville Inc. and the Tri-State Association of Insurance Adjusters. He served on the board of directors of the Ark Crisis Prevention Nursery from 1999 to 2004 and has been involved in numerous community projects.
Founded in 1920, Forrest Sherer Insurance, a member of First Financial Corporation since 2001, provides commercial insurance, employee benefits, life and long-term care, financial services and personal insurance products to the Wabash Valley.
• The Estate Planning Council of Central Illiana has recently elected officers and a board of directors for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. The officers are president Vince Milnes, CFP, financial adviser at Edward Jones; vice president Cary Sparks, CTFA, senior vice president and trust officer at First Financial Bank; secretary T.C. Clary, attorney at Wright, Shagley & Lowery; and treasurer Julie Schlosser, trust officer at Old National Bank. The Estate Planning Council of Central Illiana Inc. was formed in 1996 to provide a better understanding of estate planning and to promote cooperation and sharing of information among the various disciplines of its members. Members include professionals engaged in estate planning, such as attorneys, CEPs, ChFCs, CLUs, CFPs, CPAs and trust officers. The group emphasizes networking among its members to foster a better understanding of the relationship that each discipline bears to the other, their clients and the general public.
The local council is a member of the National Association of Estate Planners and Council. Five professional meetings are conducted throughout the year, covering timely estate planning-related topics.
