Sullivan County resident Kevin Gilmore is the new Assistant Superintendent of Re-Entry at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle. Superintendent Dick Brown made the formal announcement, citing Gilmore’s extensive experience in the offender re-entry process.

“Kevin is a proven leader and brings extensive knowledge to the job,” Brown said.

Gilmore is a nearly 28 year veteran of the Indiana Department of Correction. He started his career as a correctional officer at the former Rockville Training Center in 1984.

While working at RTC he worked his way through the ranks as Youth Group Leader, Correctional Counselor and Correctional Release Coordinator.

Gilmore transferred to WVCF in 1993 as Release Coordinator and quickly was promoted to Correctional Casework Manager. Since 2001, Gilmore has served as Correctional Unit Team Manager.

Most recently he has been assigned to the facility North campus which includes youthful offenders, protective custody and two restricted movement/transition units.

Gilmore’s areas of responsibility will include education, recreation, classification, unit team staff, mail room, programs, and he will oversee the Healthcare Services Department.



Dr. Kendall Hendricks of Brownsburg, and formerly of Terre Haute was recently named the assistant business manager for the Brownsburg Community School Corp. In his role he oversees extra-curricular accounts for all Brownsburg Schools and athletics, conducts the financial management for local, state and federal grants, maintains the capital assets inventory, and coordinates the records retention and destruction for documents within the corporation.

Hendricks, the son of Jo Ann and Jimmie Hendricks of Terre Haute, is a 1987 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School and a 2011 graduate of Purdue University.

He earned his doctorate in educational leadership and completed his doctoral dissertation in the area of school climate and student achievement.

He holds a master of science degree from Butler University where he completed his undergraduate work in education.
