Dorothy Morris of Terre Haute is the new Wabash Valley Correctional Facility training coordinator. She has been on the job at the facility for five years as a caseworker, serving with distinction in the Youth Incarcerated as Adults unit. Morris is the 2012 Indiana Criminal Justice Association Counselor of the Year. She brings a wealth of experience to her new assignment. She is a facility instructor for Promoting Positive Correctional Culture and the offender re-entry focused Positive Relationship Enhancement Program. Morris is a graduate of the Indiana Department of Correction Commissioner’s Experienced and Emerging Leadership Program. Morris graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in special education/communication disorders.
The maximum-security facility houses more than 2,000 offenders. Over 711 state and contractual staff attend annual training or specialized training each year, enhancing the safety and security of the Sullivan County based complex.
