Village Market opens in Rockville

Covered bridges aren’t Parke County’s only treasures. The Village Market will run 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday behind the Ritz Theater in Rockville.

The market features local producers and artisans. Veggies, herbs, fruits, eggs, breads, honey, bee pollen, candles, soaps, plants and specialty items are among the goods offered.

Shop locally and help the local economy. Need some reasons?

• Locally produced goods and foods use less fossil fuel for transportation to you, the consumer.

• Locally grown produce contains fewer pesticides and herbicides.

• Locally grown produce has higher nutritive value because it is fresher.

• Locally grown produce usually has better flavor because it is fresher.

• Locally produced goods and foods have some of the being of the person who thought and worked and dreamed of bringing the very best he or she could produce to you.
