Wright Implement Company Inc., the local John Deere dealership representative in Williamsport, Crawfordsville and Rockville, recently had two of its service technicians attend a hay operations and adjustments training session in London, Ohio.

Shane Allison of the Williamsport store and Cody Crowder of the Rockville store attended an intensive two-day training session on large round hay balers and mower-conditioners.

They became familiar with the overall operations and normal operator’s adjustments of various John Deere balers and mower conditioners. They learned the normal and abnormal wear parts of the equipment involved. The main intent of the training session was to make them more aware of what customer needs are when trying to get a quality crop of hay harvested, and what types of parts they need to keep on hand at their store locations to keep customers operating as efficiently and safely as possible.

Allison and Crowder were involved in discussions on the actual theory of operations for the various types of hay equipment. They were allowed to get a lot of hands-on operation of the equipment used in the training programs. They were allowed to operate and adjust mower-conditioners in the field, rake the hay in preparation for baling, and finally, to bale several bales of hay with the different balers. They discussed the haying operations with several other John Deere dealers from other states.
