ALERT: Flood warning in effect for Clark County

TERRE HAUTE — A flash flood warning is in effect for Clark County in Illinois.

The National Weather Service reports more than two inches of rain has fallen in the county. Spotters tell the National Weather Service that some creeks are out of their banks.

Areas that will experience flooding include the towns of Marshall, Dennison and Martinsville in Illinois.

An earlier tornado warning for Clark County has expired.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Department had no reports of storm damage as of about 2:45 p.m. eastern daylight time today. The department reported ponding and flooding of some roadways.

A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for northern Vigo, southern Vermillion and southwestern Parke counties in Indiana until 3:15 p.m. today. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for central Indiana until 9 p.m.

Sheriff’s Department officials in Edgar County in Illinois reported heavy rain and a roof torn from a barn. The Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department in Indiana reported no storm damage as of about 2:30 p.m.
