TERRE HAUTE — A Parke County judge has ruled that the city of Terre Haute legally owns the Charles T. Hyte Community Center at 1101 S. 13th St.
Sam Swaim, a special judge in the case, issued a summary judgment ruling in favor of the Terre Haute Parks & Recreation Board.
In the order dated Tuesday, and received by the Vigo County Clerk's office on Wednesday, Swaim acknowledged that "from a legal standpoint this is a simple case."
He goes on to order that the Charles T. Hyte Community Center's board of directors has 30 days to vacate the center in Washington Park.
