Indiana State to play host to Miami (Ohio) in Bracketbuster

TERRE HAUTE — The Indiana State Sycamores will host the Redhawks of Miami (Ohio) in this year’s BracketBusters series. The game will be played at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2006 in Hulman Center.

This will be the fifth meeting between the two schools, with the last one coming during the 2000-01 season. That game was at the Puerto Rico Shootout, as Indiana State took a 54-46 victory.

This will be the third time that the Sycamores have been involved in the BracketBusters series. Back in 2004, the Sycamores lost to Buffalo 64-51. Last season, ISU won at Western Michigan 59-57 on a David Moss bucket at the buzzer.

Indiana State is currently 11-9 and 4-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Redhawks of Charlie Coles are 8-11 overall and 4-3 in the Mid-American Conference. Junior forward Tim Pollitz leads Miami at 13.6 points per game and is second in rebounding at 5.3 per game. Senior forward Nathan Peavy averages 13.5 ppg and leads the Redhawks in rebounding at seven a game.
