TERRE HAUTE — A dandy dozen.
Indiana State set two NCAA records for 3-point shooting in Saturday's 78-68 victory over Southern Illinois at Hulman Center. ISU was 12-for-12 from 3-point range, a NCAA record with a minimum of 10 attempts. ISU is the first team in Division I history to have a perfect game from 3-point range. ISU also set the record for consecutive 3-pointers made and the record for 3-point field goal percentage, highest perfect game.
Senior Jordan Printy hit 6-of-6 from beyond the arc, while Lucas Eitel, Dwayne Lathan and Carl Richard were each perfect on two attempts from long range.
The previous 3-point record was held by Ohio State as it made 14 of 15 against Wisconsin in 2011. The NCAA has an over-15-attempt record, which is still held by Eastern Kentucky as it made 15 of 18 against UNC-Asheville in 1987.
The Sycamores shot 64.1 percent from the field overall, making 25 of 39 shot attempts. It was ISU's best shooting performance since 1992.
The previous record for consecutive 3-pointers made held by Niagara and Eastern Kentucky, who each made 11 straight 3-pointers in a game in 1987.
The previous record for highest perfect 3-points game was 9 of 9 by Minnesota vs. Penn State on Jan. 11, 2009.
