Clay County theater adds ‘Love Letters’

BRAZIL, Ind. — Community Theatre of Clay County Inc. has added a theatrical performance to its current 2012-13 season.

For one performance only, the theater group will present “Love Letters,” a Pulitzer Prize for Drama nominated play by A.R. Gurney.

The performance will be at 7 p.m. on Jan. 19.

Unlike the other performances by Community Theater of Clay County, this show will not be a dinner theater performance, although concessions will be available.

Tickets for this production will be $10 and can be purchased in advance by calling Lisa at 812-442-6909. Tickets also can be purchased at Riddell National Bank in Brazil.

“Love Letters” is a unique and imaginative theater piece which involves two characters reminiscing about their lives through the use of personal letters exchanged over a lifetime.

The characters have known each other since childhood, and each has grown to live a life that continues to be intertwined with the other.

As the actors read the letters aloud, the audience is carried along on travels that span decades, careers, families, successes and failures.

The play is both touching and frequently funny, while telling the exposed truth about two lives so intimately connected.
