Register for American Girl, Polar Express parties at Marshall Public Library

MARSHALL, ILL. — Christmastime is coming to Marshall Public Library in Marshall, Ill., which means two popular holiday programs for children will be offered — the “American Girl Christmas Tea” and “All Aboard the Polar Express!” Registration for both programs began Monday.

This year the American Girl Tea Party will be on Dec. 15, for girls ages 6-12 years. There will be two parties: one at 11 a.m. and one at 2 p.m., both for all ages. Girls may bring a doll and may dress in party clothes, but it is not necessary. Any favorite doll is welcome. A story, tea and cookies, a quick craft, and a game will make for a fun pre-Christmas celebration for all.

The library is the place to be at 1 p.m. Dec. 21 for those boys ages 5-12 who want to experience the Polar Express by way of a magical ride through this enchanting holiday story. Register for the program and come in pajamas. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

Children will make crafts good enough to eat and enjoy the story of a boy who still believes in Santa Claus. An appearance by Santa himself is also possible.

The library is at 612 Archer Ave. For more information or to register for the free programs call 217-826-2535.
