The Wall Clocks return to Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE — The Detroit-based band The Wall Clocks bring their sound, rooted in British rock but formed in Michigan, to The Verve on Saturday night.

They’ll play that venue  at 10 p.m. at 677 Wabash Ave., following an opening-act performance by Shannon LaBrie. Cover charge is $5.

The Wall Clocks were twice voted by Ambassador Magazine as “best Detroit band.”

In their debut album “Odds and Beginnings,” released in July 2009, The Wall Clocks showcased their diverse collection of tunes, words, sounds. The band is currently in the studio recording its second album with a slated 2013 release.

The band’s sound is created by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Mazzei, complimented by lead guitarist Joe Giese and rounded out by a dynamic rhythm section comprised of Nic Klaes on bass and Anthony Fiolek on drums and percussion. They’ve previously served as supporting bands for headliners the Gin Blossoms and The Romantics.
