Broadway-style tribute show June’s Got the Cash at Boot City Opry

TERRE HAUTE — Jenna Miller is June and Gene Hartman is Johnny in the nationally renowned Broadway-style tribute show June’s Got the Cash.

Watch the group light up the stage with their huckleberry humor, scripted bits, old fashioned costumes and hit tunes at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Boot City Opry in Terre Haute. Those who love the Johnny and June Carter Cash should enjoy the show.

Tickets are $15.

June’s Got the Cash was formed by Miller in 2008. After the movie “Walk the Line” came out, Miller pursued her dream; her vision was a “show band,” a tribute to Johnny and June.

“I had no experience in running a band; in fact I made a million mistakes. All I had to do was believe in me and believe this was going to happen. Sold out theaters, performances for our U.S. Soldiers & Captains, touring the Midwest … I couldn’t ask for anything more,” she said.

In 1999 Miller debuted her first hit single “Love You More” with LMP Records. Her humor and sweet voice come to life when singing with onstage hubby Gene Hartman.

Originally from Nashville, Tenn., and now residing in Crystal Lake, Ill.; Hartman lives the music of Johnny Cash and puts passion into every song he sings. He participates in the song writing community, and his influences include Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr. and the outlaw movement. Hartman loves the history, love, laughter and magic the show brings to audiences.

Miller uses a shure SM-58 microphone and a wireless shure. Hartman uses a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe rhythm guitar, fender-acoustasonic amp and shure SM-58 microphone.

The band also includes Thomas Swenson as Luther Perkins (lead guitar); Steve Justman as Marshall Grant (bass); and Zac Dawson as W.S. Holland (drums).
