Clay County Habitat planning fish fry

BRAZIL, Ind. — Habitat for Humanity of Clay County is hosting a Jonah fish fry and silent auction from 4 to 7 p.m. on April 13 in the National Guard Armory on Indiana 59, south of Brazil.

The dinner will include three pieces of fish, bread, choice of homemade green beans or baked beans and choice of tossed salad, apple sauce or coleslaw. Homemade desserts will cost $1 per serving.

Tickets are $8, adults at the door; $5, ages 5 through 10; and free for younger than 5. Extra fish is $2 per piece. Drive-through meals will be available.

You can save $1 per ticket by buying advance tickets from members of the Habitat board of directors or at the Terre Haute Savings Bank, Brazil branch.

During a silent auction at the fish fry, patrons will have the opportunity to bid on items donated by area businesses. The highest bidders will be called afterward to arrange delivery and payment for the items.

The Wabash Valley Community Foundation has awarded Habitat with a matching grant up to $2,500 for the fundraising event. All proceeds will be used to build a home with a Clay County partner family.
