Farm Village to be featured on Heartland Highways TV program

Skinner Farm Village and Museum of Perrysville — also the site of the annual Steam and Gas Show — will be featured on Heartland Highways program cable channel 915 and DISH channel 51 at 7:30 p.m. Friday and at 4 p.m. Saturday. The seven-minute episode on “where buildings in danger of being torn down find new homes” will later be available on www.youtube.com/weiutv.

According to its website, Skinner Farm Village is a collection of original log cabins, buildings, round barn and artifacts which represent more than 150 years of local Indiana history. The property has been in the Skinner family for this period of time, and has been assembled through over 30 years of collecting, preservation and research. It opened as a museum more than 27 years ago.

The Heartland Highways series is a production of television station WEIU, a service of Eastern Illinois University at Charleston, Ill. Its collection of stories features people and places in Illinois and Missouri as well as Indiana. Now in its 11th season of production, the Skinner Steam Farm episode is one of 13 that make up each season.

The next episode features tanks, boats and other military memorabilia in the Ropkey Armor Museum at Crawfordsville and will air at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 and 4 p.m. Feb. 16.
