Wabash Valley musicians come together for St. Jude fundraiser

TERRE HAUTE — In what has become an annual event, several Wabash Valley musicians will be joining together Saturday at Ole Simrell’s to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Over the past five years, the benefit concert has raised several thousand dollars to assist St. Jude in its mission to make sure that no sick child is turned away from treatment. Local music promoter Aaron “Pup” Syester has used his birthday party as a vehicle for raising funds for St. Jude for several years in a row now.

Doors open at 7 p.m., with the music beginning at 8. This year’s line-up includes local artists The Crow Cannons (blues-rock), The HANIS Project (hard-rock), Pale Horse (country/rock), as well as Madison, Wisc.,-based Owen Mays (roots/Americana) and Vine Grove, and Kentucky-based Mickey & The Bonepickers (country/roots/bluegrass).

In addition to music there will be a prize raffle, as well as a 50/50 raffle. Admission is $5 with 100 percent of the proceeds from the door and raffles going to St. Jude.
