President’s Concert to feature 10 student musicians at ISU

TERRE HAUTE — Indiana State University’s School of Music will present 10 of its finest individual performers at a 4 p.m. concert Sunday in the Recital Hall of the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

The students earned the right to perform in the President’s Concert through their performances at fall 2012 juries. The concert and the reception following, are sponsored by university President Dan Bradley.

Students performing will include James Storey, a sophomore music business major from Logansport; Matthew Stewart, a senior music education major from Paoli; Nathan Canfield, a freshman music performance major from Sullivan; Anna Buck, a senior music education major from Noblesville; Emily Morris, a senior music education major from Austin; Mami Okita, a senior music business major from Japan; Gregory Jacks, a junior music performance major from Fishers; Nikolaos Pine, a sophomore music performance major from Terre Haute; John Davis, a junior criminology major from Terre Haute; and Colleen King, a junior music education major from Urbana, Ohio.

The student performers represent all divisions within the School of Music, including piano, wind/percussion and voice.

The music performed will include works by Tomasi, Jacob, Beethoven, Handel, Lehar, Glassock, Hummel, Viardot, Bartok and Mozart.

This concert is free, but seating is limited. To request tickets, contact the School of Music at 812-237-2771.
