He has won the Sprint Cup race four times and would tie F-1 driver Michael Schumacher for most wins at the track by winning for the fifth time this week.
- Indiana Sprint Week: West Terre Haute 17-year-old racer set to mix it up with USAC’s best today at Terre Haute Action Track A pair of U.S. Auto Club veterans, Levi Jones and Dave Darland, are seeking milestone victories tonight at the Terre Haute Action Track. Jones is seeking a third straight win in Terre Haute, and the Tony Stewart Racing driver is looking to build on his lead in the USAC National Sprint Car Series point standings. Darland picked up his 12th ISW victory to open up the 2009 version at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Friday, and he has four more ISW events remaining to pick up a record 13th.

- Three-lio: Castroneves’ storybook month ends with his third Indy 500 victory Helio Castroneves led the first and, most important, led the 200th and last lap Sunday to win the Indianapolis 500 and cap a storybook month of May for him and Team Penske. Castroneves won the race for the third time — he won back-to-back races in 2001 and 2002 — and gave owner Roger Penske his 15th victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
- ‘Spider-Man’ climbs fence with help from strong Penske team It was “Hoosiers” on wheels. Just as Helio Castroneves drank the milk in Victory Circle after winning his third Indianapolis 500 Sunday, the credits started rolling. He credited God, his crew, team owner Roger Penske, race strategist Tim Cindric, sponsors and the fans. “You guys got me through. You guys are the best. Yeah baby,” he said.
- Wheldon charges from 18th to second in crash-filled 500 The Hard Charger Award is given in lots of races around the country, but it’s not one of the official awards at the Indianapolis 500. There were several candidates, had such an award had been given in the 93rd running of the race on Sunday.
