Lincoln Trail College planning student art shows

ROBINSON, ILL. — In an effort to share local art with the community, Lincoln Trail College will host three annual art shows.

The first is the Bi-Annual High School Art Show Competition.

Students in grades 9 through 12 have been invited to share original works of art ranging from drawing and painting, to computer-generated art, 3D artwork and photography.

Following judging, eight works of art will be selected for display in the LTC Library.

An artists’ reception will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the LTC library, with artwork on display from Wednesday to March 15.

The second high school art show competition will be conducted in the spring.

Entries are due May 15, 2012. The artists’ reception is planned for 7 p.m. May 21 in the LTC cafeteria, with artwork on display June 1 through Oct. 15 in the LTC Library.

The final art show is the Children’s Art Show Exhibit in April. Elementary school teachers are invited to select and prepare artwork for the exhibit which runs from April 2 through May 18 in the LTC Library.

An artists’ reception is scheduled for April 2.
