Youth Orchestra to present concert Nov. 22
TERRE HAUTE — The Crossroads of America Youth Orchestra, composed of talented high-school and middle-school instrumentalists from the Wabash Valley, will present a concert of classical and popular works at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.
The orchestra, conducted by Paul Roby, will perform the Adagio-Allegro first movement of Schubert’s Symphony No. 6 in C major, J.S. Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” from Cantata 147, the Andantino and Overture from the opera “The Village Bride” by Karl Friedrick Abel, the Espana Rhapsody for Orchestra, and selections from “The Sound of Music” by Richard Rodgers.
The free concert is in the First Central Presbyterian Church at 125 N. Seventh St. and is appropriate for audience members of all ages.
