Art Totality presents The Creation of Jack-O-Lantern

TERRE HAUTE — Art Totality presents The Creation of Jack-O-Lantern featuring local artist Kenny Vermillion from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at The Apple House, 2711 S. Third St.

There are plenty of activities to keep all hands busy. For the younger group, pumpkin sticker faces can be added to a pie pumpkin. For the 12 and older group, learn how to paint an acrylic pumpkin face. All hands can fold or assist in creating origami Jack and clean pumpkin seeds. Two recipes will be offered for families to take home and try with cleaned seeds. Dress for a mess.

Family tickets (2-6 members) will include a fun time, instructions and supplies, including:

• Origami paper (6 Sheets)

• pumpkin carving kit

• pumpkin seeds

• pumpkin décorn

• pumpkin

• pie pumpkin, stickers or acrylic paint-advanced station only.

Artists Vermillion and Ruth E. Harney are dying to show off two carvings; Bone Head and the Spider-Advanced (12 and older) table only. Vermillion has been carving small wildlife subjects professionally since 1983. With skill and accuracy his artistry is the foundation for evoking the essence of nature through the warmth of wood. His sculptures have won numerous awards and are in private and museum collections throughout the U.S.A. and other countries.

Space is limited. Family tickets (2-6 members) cost $27 and members of Art Totality receive a 20 percent ticket discount. Art Totality family members pay $22 and children under two are free. To purchase tickets, contact Stacey Thacker at (812) 887-4291 or by e-mail at stacey@arttot
