‘Gilligan’s Island of Death’ up next at Castle Finn dinner theater

MARSHALL, Ill. — Castle Finn Winery near Marshall, Ill., is planning its next murder mystery dinner for Jan. 21. Tickets go on sale today.

“Gilligan’s Island of Death” is a story about castaways who are discovered by a film crew who want to pit them against each other for a new reality show in which each of them will be voted off the island — or killed.

Guests may sample wines in the wine tasting room and purchase a bottle or glass of wine, or a beer/mixed drink, to enjoy during the program and the meal. During this advance time, the evening’s actors may mingle with the crowd and seek volunteers to play some of the short parts. This is voluntary and adds to a hilarious evening.

Hors’ dourves start at 5:30 p.m. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is after the first act, and dessert is after the second, during which time the audience votes on whom the murderer is. The third act is a recap of what has taken place, and the murderer is identified.

Meals are catered by McDaniels Catered Elegance and seating is limited. The meal will include: roast beef, sweet pepper chicken, broccoli w/cheese sauce, corn, parsley potatoes, tossed salad, dinner rolls and various desserts.

Tickets are $40 per person and in the past have sold out in as little as 10 days. Call (217) 463-2600 or stop by Castle Finn to make reservations.
