Wabash Valley Art Guild’s Spring Show at Honey Creek Mall this weekend

TERRE HAUTE — The Wabash Valley Art Guild’s 35th Annual Spring Show will be open to the community Friday through Sunday in Honey Creek Mall. Artists from throughout the Wabash Valley will be represented and promise to show a surprising variety of art. The guild expects to show more than 120 different examples of art, including: photography; 3-dimensional work, including ceramics, fused glass and wood carvings; paintings in watercolor, oil, or acrylic; and drawings in pastel, pencil, colored pencil, pen and ink.

This year’s event will be near the Center Court, in the former Fred Meyer’s Jewely store. A reception with light refreshments and music will start at 6 p.m. Friday. Ribbons will be awarded at that time.

Patrons also are invited to vote for their favorite piece and a People’s Choice Award will be awarded at the end of the show on Saturday and presented at the beginning of Sunday’s opening.

In addition to the art shown, with many of these pieces available for purchase, artists will have smaller items for sale to help with the expenses of the show.
