Rockville — The 33rd annual Spring Art Show opened April 26 in the art gallery on the north side of the square in Rockville.
This year’s event is dedicated to the Parke County Community Foundation and its supporting membership, which has supported the gallery.
Parke County native Bill Wolfe of West Terre Haute judged the show. He is known nationally for his sculptures and watercolors.
The following awards were given:
Best of Show: “Limestone Creek,” a water color by Robert Whitmore.
Most Popular: (voted by those attending the opening weekend) A tie vote — ribbons were awarded to “Daddy’s Hands” scroll saw by Loren Myers and “Jackson Twp., Parke Co.” a watercolor by Robert Whitmore.
First Place: “Misty Morning,” photo by Steve Bauer; “Golden Autumn,” an oil by Delores Collings; “Spring in the Alps,” pottery by Judy Ohmit; “Jackson Twp., Parke Co,” a watercolor by Robert Whitmore.
Second Place: “Turkey Run’s Winter Garden,” an oil by Nelrose Brown; “Here comes a Strike,” scroll saw by Loren Myers; “In a World of his Own,” colored pencil by Ellen Shaffer; “Sunshine,” oil by Susie Teschmacher.
Third Place: “The Competition,” photo by Steve Bauer; “Company's Here,” a watercolor by Rita Jacks; “Colors Poppin,” watercolor by Linda Stalker.
Honorable Mention: “Apples,” watercolor by Bill Bolz; “Childhood Memories,” watercolor by Marsha Garrison; “Country Memories,” oil by Susie Teschmacher.
The show runs through May 31. All entries will remain hanging until the end of the event. There is no admission fee. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and 1-5 p.m. Sundays.
