TERRE HAUTE —
The final push is on to meet a $1.86 million fundraising goal.
A steady flow of people have been contributing tips and donations to the
seventh-annual United Day for United Way event in the Wabash Valley.
With their sights set on the $20,000 mark, local celebrities continue until
7 p.m. pumping gas, washing car windows and sacking groceries at Baesler¹s
Market. About 92 percent of the goal ‹ or $1,710,909 ‹ has been raised up to
today for the nonprofit organization.
³We¹d like to get everybody to stop by on their way home from work,² said
United Way executive director Troy Fears.
United Days donation locations are plentiful. Visit www.uwwv.org for a
complete list of donation sites as well as a list of restaurants
participating in the Dine United event, also part of today¹s fund raising.
