SEELYVILLE —
A Seelyville man is in custody after scores of police responded to reports of shots being fired at his home.
The man, Jordan Allen, 22, is in the Vigo County jail facing preliminary allegations of public intoxication and criminal recklessness, according to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department.
Chief Deputy Clark Cottom said multiple shots were reported this evening in the Seelyville subdivision of Woodvale, the entrance to which is on U.S. 40 east of Tabertown Road.
A few shots were fired after deputies arrived at the scene, but it did not immediately appear shots were directed at police, Cottom said. The weapon used was a shotgun, he said.
No injuries were reported.
Police were still investigating the scene of the shooting tonight. The Indiana State Police also responded to the scene.
Allen was reportedly upset over a family-related matter, Cottom said.
