Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hoke
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hoke of Terre Haute celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 20, 2009.
The couple were married Sept. 20, 1959, in the Forrest Hill Methodist Church at Peoria, Ill.
Mrs. Hoke, the former Darlene “Dee” Mackey, retired after 45 years as a surgical nurse from Union Hospital and now volunteers at St. Ann’s Medical Clinic.
Hoke is a retired business owner. He also was a sales associate for Sears, Roebuck and Co.
The couple have two children, Timothy and wife Kathryn of Indianapolis, and Ericka Jade Hoke of Cape Coral, Fla.
They also have two grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Griffin
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Griffin of Clinton will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary during an open house from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, in their residence.
Friends and relatives are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted.
The Griffins were married Oct. 2, 1949, in the Baptist Church at St. Bernice.
Mrs. Griffin is the former Mary Louise Ward.
The couple have four children, Shirley Overpeck of Dana, Sandra Gilbert of Florida, Carol Thomas of Terre Haute, and Jack Griffin Jr. of Clinton.
They also have four grandchildren and seven great-granddaughters.
