Mr. and Mrs. Ted Adams

Mr. and Mrs. Ted Adams of Rosedale observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010. They celebrated with a family dinner.

The couple were married Aug. 19, 1960, in Rosedale Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben Lowther.

Mrs. Adams, the former Judy Bisiaux, is retired after 25 years with the U.S. Postal Service.

Adams is retired after 33 years with Alcan Aluminum of Terre Haute.

The couple have two children, David Adams and wife Vickie, and Amy Harney, both of Rosedale. They also have three grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. David Bland

Mr. and Mrs. David Bland of Dennison, Ill., will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with family.

The Blands were married Sept. 1, 1940, in the Dennison Methodist Church by the Rev. Keeley Kepner.

Mrs. Bland is the former Dorthea Johns.

They operated an egg production business for many years and are retired from farming.

The couple have a daughter, Donnetta Smith and husband Richard. They also have one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Moss

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Moss celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010.

The couple were married Aug. 19, 1960, in Smith Park United Methodist Church in West Terre Haute.

Mrs. Moss, the former Karen Brown, retired as a school bus driver for the Vigo County School Corp.

Moss is retired from Indiana Gas and works part time at Performance Refinish.

The couple have two children, Scott Moss and wife Lisa of West Terre Haute, and Molly Herb and husband Rodney of Terre Haute. They also have four grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Canal

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Canal will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary today, Aug. 22, 2010. 

The Canals were married Aug. 22, 1970, in St. Leonard’s Catholic Church by the Rev. Henry Brown.

Mrs. Canal, the former Kathy Wright, was a teacher at DeVaney, Hoosier Prairie and Dixie Bee elementary schools in the Vigo County School Corp.

Canal was a locomotive engineer for 41 years with the Canadian Pacific Railroad (formerly the Milwaukee Road).

The couple have two children, Lori Eldred and husband John, and Steve Canal and wife Robin, both of Terre Haute. They also have four grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Scott

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Scott of Farmersburg will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010.

They were married Aug. 29, 1965, in the United Methodist Church in Danville, Ind.

The couple have two children, Jenny Scott of Jasonville, and Andy Scott and wife Debbie of Madison, Ala. They also have five grandchildren.
