Gene Marrs

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Marrs of Marshall, Ill., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011.

The couple were married Jan. 28, 1951, in Bell Ridge Christian Church at Paris, Ill. Mrs. Marrs is the former Patricia Stickler.

The couple owned and operated Marrs Furniture Store in Marshall, Ill., for 37 years before retiring in 1996. They have two sons, Gregory Marrs of Auburndale, Fla., and James Marrs of Marshall, Ill. They also have three grandchildren.

David W.

Grubb

Mr. and Mrs. David W. Grubb will observe their 40th wedding anniversary on Feb. 6, 2011.

The couple were married Feb. 6, 1971, at Northside Church of Christ in Terre Haute.

Mrs. Grubb, the former Beverly Bradford, is employed by Cunningham Memorial Library at Indiana State University. Grubb is minister at Northwest Church of Christ.

The couple have three children, Jonathan Grubb and wife Sara of Nashville, Tenn., Alisa Grubb of Bloomington, and Michael Grubb of Terre Haute. They also have three grandchildren.

Charles E. Letner

Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Letner of Terre Haute will observe their 45th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011. They plan to renew their wedding vows in February and celebrate with a private dinner.

The Letners were married Jan. 25, 1966. Mrs. Letner is the former Flora L. Brown.

The couple have five children, Charles L. Letner, Loretta I. James, Troy A. Letner, Ruby I. Wilkey and Melissa A. Hutchinson.

John Waters

Mr. and Mrs. John Waters celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 28, 2010, with family and friends at Williamson Brother’s Restaurant in Canton, Ga. 

The couple were married Dec. 29, 1950, in Terre Haute. Mrs. Waters, the former Marlene Herb, is a homemaker. Waters is retired from Alcan after 25 years.

The couple have two children, John Waters and wife Penny of Cartersville, Ga., and Connie of Terre Haute. They also have two granddaughters.

Riley Wineinger




Mr. and Mrs. Riley Wineinger of West Terre Haute celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party hosted by their children on Nov. 26, 2010.

The Wineingers were married Nov. 26, 1960, in St. Joseph University Parish in Terre Haute by the Rev. Charles Zengel.

Mrs. Wineinger, the former Virginia Bozack, is a homemaker.

Wineinger retired from JI Case in 1987 and from Blaw-Knox Construction Equipment in Mattoon, Ill., in 1998.

The couple have three children, Pam Norris and husband Steve, Bill Wineinger and wife Susie of West Terre Haute, and Steve Wineinger of Shepardsville. They also have two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one stepdaughter and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
