Anniversaries: Jan. 10, 2010

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rader


Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rader of Brazil observed their 50th wedding anniversary on New Year’s Eve.

A reception is scheduled 2 to 4 p.m. today in the Knightsville Masonic Lodge.

Friends and relatives are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted but cards are welcome.

The Raders were married Dec. 31, 1959, by the Rev. Orville Rader in his residence.

Mrs. Rader, the former Patsy Michael, is a former beautician and foster mother. Rader retired from Alcan Rolled Products Co. in 2002.

Hosts will be the couple’s three children, Rebecca Rader, Steven and Kristi Rader, and Michael and Matricia Rader; and their eight grandchildren. They also have four great-grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth L. Perdue


Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth L. Perdue will observe their 50th wedding anniversary during a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, in New Life Fellowship Church at 1851 N. Chamberlain in East Glenn.

It is requested that gifts be omitted but cards are welcome and may be mailed to 3855 E. Teakwood, Terre Haute, IN 47805.

The couple were married Jan. 16, 1960. Mrs. Perdue, the former Doyne M. Akers, was employed by Donnelley’s, AT&T;, Indiana State University and the Poplar Shop. Perdue is retired from Alcan Aluminum after 34 years.

The couple have three children, Terry Lee Perdue of Terre Haute, Lori A. Perdue of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and the late Jeffrey A. Perdue. They also have two grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wallace


Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wallace of Marshall, Ill., will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010.

The Wallaces were married Jan. 12, 1985, in Freedom Baptist Church at Martinsville, Ill., by the late Rev. Glen Arbuckle.

Mrs. Wallace is the former Lisa Budd.

The couple have two children, Dale and Jennifer Wallace.



Mr. and Mrs. George Lehner


Mr. and Mrs. George Lehner of Terre Haute will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 30, 2010, and celebrate with a Caribbean cruise.

The Lehners were married Jan. 30, 1960. Mrs. Lehner is the former Connie Alonge.

The couple have three children, Desiree Read of Kansas, Torre Lehner of Terre Haute and Gerard Lehner of Indianapolis. They also have five grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. William H. Staggs


Mr. and Mrs. William H. Staggs of Terre Haute celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary during Christmastime with family.

The couple were married Jan. 14, 1950, in the Oak Hill Church at Riley.

Mrs. Staggs, the former Mary Ellen Kraemer, is a retired school secretary from Pimento and Hoosier Prairie schools. Staggs worked at Ethyl Visqueen and retired as a self-employed contractor.

The couple have three children, Debbie Stoehr, Sharon and Mark Lofton, and Darrell and Patti Staggs.

They also have six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
