Mr. and Mrs. David Willis


Mr. and Mrs. David Willis of Terre Haute celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 2, 2009, with family and friends during a dinner party at Sycamore Hills Golf Course in Paris, Ill.

The couple were married May 10, 1959, in Marion Heights by the Rev. H. Thorton.

Mrs. Willis, the former Jane Piker, is a homemaker.

Willis is retired after 30 years with Midwestern Gas.

Hosts were the couple’s three children, Randy (Shelly) Willis, Robin (Nick) Vinardi and Mark (Linda) Willis. The couple also have four grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Bob Amerman


Mr. and Mrs. Bob Amerman will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009.

The Amermans were married Sept. 26, 1959, in the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton.

Mrs. Amerman, the former Nancy Sweazey, is retired from Eli Lilly & Co. in Clinton.

Amerman is retired from International Paper at Terre Haute.

The couple have two daughters, Bobbi Amerman (and Rusty Firestone) of Clinton, and Ami Hargis and husband Ken of Terre Haute.

They also have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.



Mr. and Mrs. John W. Layher Sr.


Mr. and Mrs. John W. Layher Sr. will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, and celebrate with trip to Niagara Falls in New York and Canada.

It is requested that gifts be omitted but cards are welcome and may be sent to 1101 Creek Bridge Drive, Watkinsville, GA 30677.

The Layhers were married Oct. 18, 1959, in the Maplewood Christian Church in Terre Haute by the Rev. Neil Kuhns.

Mrs. Layher, the former Rose Eldred, was employed by J.C. Penney Co. before moving to Georgia, where she retired as a secretary from the University of Georgia.

Layher is retired from Alcan Aluminum after 32 years at the Terre Haute and Greensboro, Ga., plants.

The couple have three children, Vickie Carrier of Watkinsville, Ga., John W. Layher and wife Rose of Athens, Ga., and Mike Layher and wife Shonna of Indianapolis.

They also have two grandsons.



Mr. and Mrs. Robert Trueblood


Mr. and Mrs. Robert Trueblood will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009.

A family celebration took place in July in Orlando, Fla.

Friends and relatives are invited to an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, in the Fowler Park Barn.

Mrs. Trueblood, the former Kay Shannon, is retired after 35 years with Reuben H. Donnelley. Trueblood is retired from Wiemuth & Son.

The couple have three children, Tracy Yates and husband Bill, Daniel Trueblood and wife Michelle, and Paula Long and husband Mark.

They also have seven grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Dammann


Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Dammann of Terre Haute will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a trip to the Hawaiian Islands.

The Dammanns were married Oct. 25, 1969, in St. John’s Catholic Church in Carrollton, Ill.

Mrs. Dammann, the former Mary Grummel, is retired from the Vigo County Recorder’s Office.

Dammann is retired from the Terre Haute Police Department, Indiana State University Public Safety and the Indiana Air National Guard.

The couple have four sons and six grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Greg Aff


Mr. and Mrs. Greg Aff of West Terre Haute, and formerly of Anaheim, Calif., celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009.

The Affs were married Sept. 8, 1984, in West Terre Haute.

Mrs. Aff is the former Penny Blair.

The couple have two children, Drew Aff of Bloomington and Dylan Aff of West Terre Haute.
