  UPDATE 4: Deadly tornado roars through Oklahoma City suburb

  A monstrous tornado at least a half-mile wide roared through the Oklahoma City suburbs Monday, flattening entire neighborhoods and destroying an elementary school with a direct blow as children and teachers huddled against winds up to 200 mph. At least 51 people were killed, and officials said the death toll was expected to rise.

Mr. and Mrs. George Korenski

Mr. and Mrs. George Korenski of Terre Haute will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. today, Nov. 21, 2010, in their home at 6687 N. Dee St.

Friends and Relatives are invited.

The Korenskis were married Nov. 25, 1960, in the Rosedale Christian Fellowship Church by the Rev. Alan Curtis. 

Mrs. Korenski is the former Irene Archer.

The couple have four children, Pam Cooper, George Korenski, Connie Knierim and Mike Korenski.

They also have five grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. David L. Abner

Mr. and Mrs. David L. Abner of Terre Haute will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010.

Mr. and Mrs. Abner were married Nov. 23, 1960, in Illinois.

Mrs. Abner, the former Madie Martin, is retired from First Financial Bank.

Abner retired from the United States Air Force and U.S. Postal Service.

The couple have two daughters, Debra Ann Johnson and husband Drake, and Connie Sue Richards and husband Brett. They also have three grandchildren.
