  An Interstate 5 bridge over a river north of Seattle collapsed Thursday evening, dumping vehicles and people into the water, the Washington State Patrol said.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary J. Buck

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Buck celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with family and friends on Oct. 13, 2012, in the Sandcut firehouse hall. Gary and Nancy were united in marriage on Nov. 20, 1972, in Waukegan, Ill. Mrs. Buck, the former Nancy Russell of Lockport, N.Y., has owned and operated Country Cousins Daycare for the last 22 years. Mr. Buck is retired from Laborers and Hod Carriers Union, Local 204.

The couple have two children, Amy Barekat of Tampa, Fla., and Staff Sgt. Adam Buck, who is stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. They also have two grandchildren, Katelyn Buck and Bradyn Barekat.



Mr. and Mrs. James Quick

James and Marjorie (Swalls) Quick of Farmersburg will celebrate their 50th anniversary from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, in the Hymera Ruritan Club.

Friends and relatives are invited to come and join their celebration.

The couple were married on Dec. 8, 1962. James worked until 1981 at Columbia Records, and for many years at Hymera Lucky Dollar. He has pastored at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Hymera for 38 years.  

They have three sons, Mark (Melodie) Quick of Farmersburg, Jerry (Connie) Quick of Hymera and Michael (Lydia) Quick of Farmersburg; and one daughter, Kimberly (Shane) Morrison of Farmersburg. They also have six grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Macy Gordon Rowe

Mr. and Mrs. Macy Gordon Rowe of Terre Haute observed their 65th wedding anniversary Nov. 22, 2012. They celebrated Thanksgiving Day with family in their son’s home.

The couple were married Nov. 22, 1947, in Clinton.

Mrs. Rowe is the former Peggy Lorene Goodman. Both are retired from Herm Ermisch Dry Cleaners.

They couple have three children, Cindy Porter and husband “Bub,” Nancy Alkire and husband Gary, and Neal Rowe and wife Cindy. They also have eight grandchildren, one step-grandson, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
