• Mr. and Mrs. Warren A. Strohm
Warren and Ann Strohm will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 9, 2012.
Ann is retired from Burnsides Nursing Home. Warren is retired after more than 50 years as a gasoline and oil distributor in Illinois and Indiana. He also constructed and operated several convenience stores. He and his partners built and operated Gary’s Tank and Tummey on South Seventh Street in Terre Haute.
The couple will celebrate with a special family dinner with their four children, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Warren and Ann reside at One Briarwood Lane, Marshall, IL 62441. They would appreciate cards, but request gifts be omitted.
• Judge and Mrs. Charles McCrory
Judge and Mrs. Charles McCrory of Terre Haute celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a small family gathering at JFord’s Black Angus. The couple were married on Aug. 5, 1952, in Zion Evangelical Reform Church at Decatur, Ind.
Mrs. McCrory is a graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing, and was a nurse at Bloomington Hospital, and then Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She is now a homemaker, mother and active member of PEO and Tri Kappa service organizations.
Judge McCrory is a graduate of Indiana University School of Business and Indiana University School of Law. After the couple moved to Terre Haute in 1955 he worked as an attorney for 10 years before being elected Vigo County Superior Court 2 judge in 1965. Judge McCrory retired from his full-time judicial role in 1997, but then continued to serve Vigo and surrounding counties as a part-time senior judge until 2010. He remains active in the Indiana State and Terre Haute Bar associations. He and his wife are both longtime members of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Judge and Mrs. McCrory have three children, Michael McCrory and wife Patricia of Indianapolis, Sue Whitman and husband Bill of Spencer, and Jill McCrory of Indianapolis. They also enjoy four grandchildren, Ethan and Jesse Kestenman and Justin and Katie McCrory.
• Mr. and Mrs. Paul Augustus
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Augustus will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, in the First Baptist Church at 205 S. Fifth St. in West Terre Haute.
Hosts will be their three sons and families, Jeff (Bekah) of West Terre Haute, Keith (Stephanie) of Georgetown, Ill., and Kevin (Joyce) of Paris, Ill.
Family, friends and church family are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted but cards are welcome.
The couple were married July 29, 1962, by the Rev. Albert Lucchi in the First Baptist Church of West Terre Haute.
The couple have eight grandchildren, Nathan, Ethan, Lauren and Jordan Augustus of West Terre Haute; Jessica and Timothy Augustus of Paris, Ill.; and Brandon and Tyler Augustus of Georgetown.
