Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Nelson
Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Nelson of Terre Haute will observe their 60th wedding anniversary Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, and celebrate later with a trip to Nashville, Tenn.
The Nelsons were married Oct. 6, 1950, in Dean Avenue Christian Church by the Rev. Ira Adams.
Mrs. Nelson, the former Freida Monroney, is employed by Sue’s Hallmark.
Nelson is retired from the Terre Haute Tribune-Star, the Indianapolis Star and from the Transportation Department of the Vigo County School Corp.
The couple have four children, Polly Jones and husband Steve, Brad and Kevin Nelson, and Roger Nelson and wife Anne. They also have three grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poths
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poths of Terre Haute will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010. A celebration is planned at a later date.
The couple were married Oct. 8, 1960, in St. Benedict Catholic Church in Terre Haute by the Rev. Gerard Herman.
Mrs. Poths, the former Janie Kessel, was a teacher for 35 years with Vigo County School Corp.
Poths worked 41 years at Lough Brothers Roofing and Siding.
The couple have two sons, Charles Poths Jr. and his wife Tillie of Linden, Va., and William Bradley Poths and wife Rene of Highland, Ill. They also have four grandchildren
Mr. and Mrs. Steven R. McDowell
Mr. and Mrs. Steven R. McDowell of Terre Haute observed their 25th wedding anniversary on Aug. 26, 2010, and celebrated with a cruise and Florida vacation.
The McDowells were married Aug. 26, 1985, in Las Vegas.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Witt of Terre Haute will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010.
They were married Oct. 5, 1985, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Sullivan by the Rev. Raymond Brenner. Mrs. Witt is the former Joy Morgan.
The couple have two children, Bonnie Elizabeth Witt and Carol Christine Witt, both at home.
