Mr. and Mrs. William F. Killion


Mr. and Mrs. William F. Killion of Reelsville will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Monday, June 29, 2009.

The Killions were married on June 29, 1944, in Prairie City Evangelic Church near Center Point.

Mrs. Killion, the former Bette Lawson, retired as a school librarian and children’s author.

Killion is retired from the Air Force and from a self-owned business as a carpenter-contractor.

The couple have six children, Nancy McCullough and husband Jack of Brazil, Tom Killion and wife Carla of Indianapolis, Sally Paris and husband Michael of Dallas, Rod Killion of Indianapolis, Laura McCullough and husband Dan of Dallas, and Beth Flint and husband Jeff of Greencastle.

They also have 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Creston Eckart


Mr. and Mrs. Creston Eckart of Indianapolis celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.

The Eckarts were married on June 24, 1949, in Greenwood Wesleyan Church at Terre Haute by the Revs. Estel Eckart, brother of the bridegroom, and Aaron Hayhurst.

Mrs. Eckart, the former Charlotte Ann Long, was employed by Quaker Maid at Terre Haute.

Eckart retired from teaching in 1983 after 29 years and from pastoring in 1993.

The couple have four sons, Phillip Eckart and wife Karen, the Rev. Daniel Eckart and wife Laurie, Paul Eckart and wife Kelley, and the Rev. Jeffrey Eckart and wife Arianna.

They also have 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.



Mr. and Mrs. Roger Davies


Mr. and Mrs. Roger Davies of Fredericksburg, Texas, and formerly of Terre Haute, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 18, 2009.

Cards are welcome and may be sent to 155 Phoenix, Terre Haute, IN 47803.

The couple were married on July 18, 1959, in Congregational Church at Rockford, Ill.

Mrs. Davies, the former Karen Manley, earned a master of business administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan and retired in 1996 from Union Hospital as director of admitting.

Davies owned and operated Davies Foundry Inc.

The couple have three children, Lucia Hilton of Newburgh, Ind., and Dwight Davies and wife Adrienne, and Chris Davies and wife Sally, all of Terre Haute.

They also have six grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Prox Jr.


Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Prox Jr. of Terre Haute will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Monday, June 29, 2009.

The Proxes were married June 29, 1949, in St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Mrs. Prox, the former Louise McFall, is a graduate of St. Mary-of-the-Woods-College and a homemaker.

Prox graduated from Indiana University and retired in 2008 after 59 years with Prox Company Inc.

The couple have two children, Robert F. Prox III (and Mary Beth), and Ann Prox, both of Terre Haute. They also have two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
