Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fry

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fry of Terre Haute celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family on Thursday, July 23, 2009, in Branson, Mo.

The couple were married July 23, 1949, in Henderson, Ky. Mrs. Fry is the former Edna Hiatt.

The couple have three children, Diane Allen and husband Bruce Allen Sr., Earl Fry Jr. and wife Eva, and Rick Fry and wife Robin, all of Terre Haute.

They also have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Frederick E. Young

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick E. Young of Terre Haute will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 1:30 to 5 p.m. today in the fellowship hall of Terre Haute Bible Center, 3219 E. Evans Ave.

Friends and relatives are invited. Lunch will be served. Cards are welcome and may be sent to 21 Mayflower Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47803.

The Youngs were married July 26, 1959, in First Baptist Church by the Rev. G. Todd Roberts. Joyce (Jackson) Kemp and Homer Ray Kemp were witnesses.

Mrs. Young, the former Betty Cooper, is retired from Pittman-Moore Inc. Young is retired from the Tribune-Star mailroom.

The couple have four children, Marsha L. Wenzel and husband Monte, Christina A. Kane and husband Michael, all of Terre Haute; and Patrick K. Young and wife Yvonne of Berne, Ind., and Paul S. Young and wife Sharon of Charleston, S.C. They also have 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.



Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Long

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Long of Terre Haute will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, in the Marine Corps League, 3006 N. 16th St.

Friends and relatives are invited. It is requested the gifts be omitted but cards are welcome.

The Longs were married Aug. 1, 1959, in Maple Avenue United Methodist Church by the Rev. Blake. Mrs. Long, the former Suzanne LaFollette, is retired from Columbia House. Long is retired from Dawn Food Products as a field technician.

The couple have three children, Jayne Gaddis and husband Marvin of Terre Haute, Chris Long and wife Susan of Simpsonville, S.C., and the late Jeff Long and wife Sena of Irmo, S.C. They also have seven grandchildren.
