Sullivan

Vintage Camper Rally reservations sought

Reservations are now being taken for the 2nd Annual Southern Indiana Vintage Camper Rally in Sullivan. This event will take place June 10-13 (Thursday through Sunday) at the beautiful Sullivan County Park & Lake between Terre Haute and Vincennes. Like last year, this event is open to all vintage campers (25 years or older), regardless of make, year, style, size or condition. The 2009 rally brought in 36 vintage campers of all makes, shapes and sizes from six different states. The farthest arrived from Florida to attend. With the growing interest in vintage campers, we expect this year’s rally to be a complete sellout. This year we are going with a tropical theme, which will make for some pretty interesting activities, decorating, entertainment, food and outfits! There will also be a huge open house for the public’s viewing from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 12. Many of these vintage trailers have been registered with the famous group Tin Can Tourists, providing the spectators with some classy and unusual campers. For more information, e-mail weluvzak@yahoo.com or call (812) 448-3434 or (812) 299-4249.

Women of Note to begin rehearsals

Women of Note, the Marshall-based vocal jazz ensemble, will begin rehearsals for its summer show from 6:30 to 8 p.m. (CST) Tuesday, at the United Methodist Church in Marshall. New voices are welcome.

The theme of the June performance is “Your Hit Parade-The Fabulous Fifties.” Rock-and-roll became popular in the 1950s, but Broadway shows and sentimental ballads also had an influence on the music of the decade. The show includes a mix of these different musical styles.

Membership in Women of Note is open to any Valley woman who enjoys singing and performing. The United Methodist Church is in downtown Marshall, across from the Post Office. For further information, contact Priscilla Wieck at (217) 826-5161.
